Football Recap: Mcclave Skates Past Rocky Ford with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McClave). They claimed a resounding 51-0 win over the Rocky Ford Meloneers. The Cardinals pushed the score to 44-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Meloneers had no chance of recovering from.

McClave didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Drew Howe and Mason Barr. With that strong performance, Barr is now averaging an impressive 129.3 rushing yards per game.

The victory keeps McClave at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.2 points on average this season. As for Rocky Ford, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, McClave will take on Swink at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Rocky Ford, they will face off against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Longhorns' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Meloneers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
