Basketball Recap: Malcolm Skates Past Ralston with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Malcolm's strategy against Ralston on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Malcolm Clippers blew the Ralston Rams out of the water with a 69-19 final score. The Clippers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Malcolm's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Baylor Bratrsovsky led the charge by going 8 of 13 on her way to 18 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Bratrsovsky a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Payton Dolliver, who went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Malcolm was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ralston only posted four assists.

Makenzie Macrander and Makayla Hargrave certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Macrander posted six points, while Hargrave had no points. Kari Grimes-Fraire also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Malcolm pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Ralston, they are on a 37-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Malcolm wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 39-31 loss against Wahoo on the 30th. Ralston has also already played their next game, a 66-16 defeat against Platteview on the 30th.
