St. Mary's piles up the points against Banning Lewis Academy

The St. Mary's Pirates won the last time they faced the Banning Lewis Academy Stallions, and things went their way on Friday too. St. Mary's simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Banning Lewis Academy 75-29 on the road. With that win, St. Mary's brought their scoring average up to 55.5 points per game.

St. Mary's was led to victory by Jaela Pedro and Maeve Salveson. Pedro scored 19 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals, while Salveson scored 24 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Pedro has scored at least 25% of St. Mary's points. Hope Chavez was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Banning Lewis Academy saw an underclassman step up: Katie Chandler scored 2 points along with 9 rebounds.

Banning Lewis Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as St. Mary's racked up 19.

The victory makes it two in a row for St. Mary's and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Banning Lewis Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

St. Mary's will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Middle Park at 3:30 p.m. on December 7th. Middle Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 164th, while St. Mary's is ranked 38th). As for Banning Lewis Academy, they will face off against Woodland Park at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
