Softball Recap: Wyoming Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Wyoming came out on top against Comstock Park on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Wolves blew past the Panthers 11-4. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Vanessa Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Danika Rawls, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kellsie Dieterle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Wyoming was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wyoming pushed their record up to 5-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Comstock Park, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyoming will take on Thornapple Kellogg at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Comstock Park, they will face off against Fruitport at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
