Linton-Stockton had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 44-14 win over the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds. The Miners' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Linton-Stockton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paul Oliver, who threw for 188 yards and one touchdown on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 45 yards. Oliver also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making one tackle and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Another back making a difference was Aidan Sparks, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of scores.

Linton-Stockton's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Eastern Greene, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linton-Stockton will take on Northview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
