Preview: West Rusk Raiders vs. Redwater Dragons
The West Rusk Raiders will be playing at home against the Redwater Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Rusk is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Last Friday, West Rusk didn't have too much trouble with Edgewood on the road as they won 43-28.
West Rusk got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Judson Dotson out in front who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Dotson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Murphy, who rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Redwater took a serious blow against De Kalb on Friday, falling 50-18. Redwater has struggled against De Kalb recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gavin Carrell, who threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Nick Farrar, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown.
West Rusk's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Redwater, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
