Basketball Recap: Mackenzie Farinella's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tipton over Clinton Central

Tipton played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Clinton Central Bulldogs, falling 50-27. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tipton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Farinella, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Farinella is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Tipton was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

It was another big night for Carly Davison, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists for Clinton Central. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Davison has scored at least a third of Clinton Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Harris, who posted 14 points and five boards.

Tipton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Clinton Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Tipton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 86-17 loss against Lapel on the 14th. As for Clinton Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-41 defeat against Muncie Central on the 17th.
