Softball Recap: Abbott's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Abbott had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Hubbard on Tuesday. The Panthers never let the Jaguars get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Abby Neill was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kinley Grayson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Rylee Wise was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Abbott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the third in a row for Abbott, bringing their record up to 10-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hubbard, they dropped their record down to 10-10-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Abbott will face off against Three Way at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th. Hubbard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
