Josh Elmer was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. Elmer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Galczynski, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Witczak, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Franklin County Tech made sure to put some runs up on the board against Turners Falls on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 14-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.
Hunter Donahue was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Franklin County Tech is undefeated when Donahue posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Brody Hicks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Westfield Technical Academy's record now sits at 12-2. As for Franklin County Tech, their record is now 9-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Westfield Technical Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Franklin County Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Westfield Technical Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin County Tech when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
