Recap: Saluda Tigers vs. Emerald Vikings
The Saluda Tigers waltzed into their match Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 43-38 W over Emerald. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Saluda also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Jurnee Williams and Ti'yonia Tennant certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Williams scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Tennant scored two points along with 14 rebounds. Tennant is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Saluda pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Emerald, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saluda will take on Abbeville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Emerald won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mid-Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Mid-Carolina's defense has only allowed 22.3 points per game this season, so Emerald's offense will have their work cut out for Emerald.
