Softball Game Preview: Granger Lancers vs. Spanish Fork Dons

For the second straight game, Granger will face off against Spanish Fork. The Lancers will face off against the Dons at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Granger has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Spanish Fork will come in with four straight victories.

Granger heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Saturday. They came up short against Spanish Fork, falling 15-0.

For Spanish Fork's part, Anaca Olsen looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Olsen has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jade Romero was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lia Higginson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Spanish Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Granger's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Spanish Fork, their record is now 15-12.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Granger hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Spanish Fork struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs.
