Softball Recap: Spring Woods Comes Up Short

If Spring Woods was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Austin on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spring Woods Tigers lost 16-1 to the Cypress Ridge Rams on Saturday. The Tigers have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Spring Woods saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Leatham, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, Spring Woods hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive matchups.

Spring Woods' defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Cypress Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.

Spring Woods wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Cypress Lakes on the 1st. As for Cypress Ridge, they will square off against Cypress Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
