Softball Recap: Paloma Valley Comes Up Short

Paloma Valley lost against Orange Vista last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 12-6 to the Coyotes. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly six runs.

Abigail Rogers stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Berni, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Paloma Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Orange Vista, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Coming up, Paloma Valley will square off against Hemet at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Orange Vista, they will take on Valley View at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Coyotes surely won't give up without a fight.
