Football Recap: Centennial Skates Past Hawthorne with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). They blew past the Hawthorne Cougars 53-26 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-6.

Despite the loss, Hawthorne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anthony Green rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 152 yards and one TD on perfect 10-for-10 passing.

The victory snapped Centennial's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Hawthorne, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

As of now, neither Centennial nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
