Softball Recap: Abbott Panthers vs. Hubbard Jaguars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Whitney, Abbott was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Hubbard Jaguars by a score of 6-2. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 14-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Abby Neill made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Neill was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Kylee Nors and Gabbie Salazar did most of the damage at the plate: Nors scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Salazar scored a run while going 2-for-2. Nors also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Kinley Grayson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Abbott kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
