Football Recap: Trey Trevino Leads Bishop Mclaughlin Catholic's Defense on Friday

The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes didn't have too much trouble with the Cornerstone Classical Academy Spartans on Friday as they won 26-8.

Josiah Chalk was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 57 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up 0.5 sacks and making four total tackles.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's defense and their seven sacks. Leading the way was Trey Trevino with two.

The victory got Bishop McLaughlin Catholic back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will host Keswick Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cornerstone Classical Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hilliard at 7:00 p.m. on September 4.
