Basketball Recap: Sarah T. Reed Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Sarah T. Reed won the last time they faced L.W. Higgins and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sarah T. Reed Olympians came out on top against the L.W. Higgins Hurricanes by a score of 58-48. Given the Olympians' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

L.W. Higgins' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Casey Lambert, who posted 15 points. Roman Mcclinton was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The win made it two in a row for Sarah T. Reed and bumps their season record up to 8-2. As for L.W. Higgins, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Sarah T. Reed wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-44 victory against Morris Jeff on the 6th. As for L.W. Higgins, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-42 defeat against St. Martin's Episcopal on the 6th.
