Basketball Game Preview: Kenesaw Blue Devils vs. Deshler Dragons

Kenesaw and Deshler are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Kenesaw Blue Devils will welcome the Deshler Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kenesaw is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Kenesaw came up short against Pleasanton and fell 51-40. While the Blue Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 17-13 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Kenesaw had strong showings from Adam Denkert, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points, and Maddox Wagoner, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jravin Suck, who scored six points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Kenesaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Deshler didn't have too much trouble with Superior on Tuesday as they won 62-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dragons.

Deshler is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Kenesaw, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
