Basketball Recap: Rock Hill Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Catawba Ridge came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Rock Hill, but Anderson Tucker wouldn't allow it. The Rock Hill Bearcats walked away with a 72-63 victory over the Catawba Ridge Copperheads on Tuesday thanks in part to Tucker, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points. What's more, he also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Deionne Robertson was another key player, putting up 12 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Mark Caslaru and Isaiah Thomas certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Caslaru dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Thomas went 7 of 11 en route to 20 points and five boards. Caslaru has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kevin Butler, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Rock Hill and bumps their season record up to 8-16. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Catawba Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Rock Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Catawba Ridge, they will take on Clover at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
