Basketball Recap: Freedom Christian Academy Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

On Saturday, the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots earned a 58-45 win over the Overhills Jaguars. The 58-point effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

It was another big night for Karsten Swinney, who posted 30 points and three steals. His evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cristian Sias, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds.

Overhills' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ja?Von Motta, who had 17 points and three steals, and Demelvin Steele, who earned eight points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Roland, who scored six points.

Freedom Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Overhills, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.

Freedom Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. As for Overhills, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hoke County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Hoke County: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Overhills has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
