Baseball Game Recap: Carolina Academy Trojans vs. Southside Christian Sabres

Carolina Academy had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-14 to make it 13. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Southside Christian Sabres, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabres this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Friday.

As for Southside Christian, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 21-1-1. Considering they have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Southside Christian's part, Ben Rafalski was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those two hits gave Rafalski a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Brancati, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Carolina Academy has already played their next matchup, a 16-0 defeat against Palmetto on the 28th. As for Southside Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-2 win against Upstate on the 28th.
