Softball Game Preview: Brownsville Falcons vs. Laurel Highlands Mustangs

The Brownsville Falcons will face off against the Laurel Highlands Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brownsville's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Laurel Highlands' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Brownsville will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Wednesday, then bounced right back against California on Thursday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Trojans. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Laurel Highlands got themselves on the board against Albert Gallatin on Wednesday, but Albert Gallatin never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Colonials.

Laurel Highlands' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Brownsville, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Brownsville was able to grind out a solid victory over Laurel Highlands in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 4-1. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
