Volleyball Recap: Hilmar Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Orestimba last Thursday, Hilmar came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Hughson Huskies on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Hilmar was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-23, 25-13.

Reese Ahlem paced Hilmar's offense, picking up six kills. Ahlem got some help from Stella Pires and her 16 assists. Finally, Ahlem was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Hilmar's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8. As for Hughson, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Hilmar has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Ripon on the 30th. As for Hughson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Livingston on the 30th.
