Basketball Recap: Virginia Falls to Cromwell in First Game of Season

Virginia unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to the Cromwell Cardinals 65-60.

It was another big night for Brady Dahl, who went 10-for-23 en route to 26 points and eight boards for Cromwell. The game was Dahl's third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Nyberg, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Cromwell is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Virginia is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will square off against Cherry at 7:15 p.m. on February 28th. As for Cromwell, they will head out to challenge Chisholm at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
