Centennial suffers fifth straight loss on the road

Recap: Centennial Spartans vs. Mansfield Timberview Wolves

The Centennial Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Mansfield Timberview by a score of 44-41. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1027th, while Mansfield Timberview is ranked 62nd).

Leading Mansfield Timberview to victory were Jadyn Hollis and Lewis Sotelo. Hollis scored nine points along with three steals, while Sotelo scored six points along with eight rebounds. Hollis hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.

Centennial bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mansfield Timberview, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Centennial will be home for the holidays to greet Seguin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Seguin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge. As for Mansfield Timberview, they will head out on the road to face off against Midlothian Heritage at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
