Baseball Recap: Ben Davis Takes a Loss

Ben Davis had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-14 to make it five. They came up short against the North Central Panthers, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Thursday.

As for North Central, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

For North Central's part, they let Rykin Matthias and Kole Krienhagen run wild. Matthias went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Krienhagen went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Krienhagen has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Jaynes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Ben Davis didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Lawrence North on the 21st. As for North Central, they have also already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Lawrence Central on the 20th.
