Basketball Game Preview: Corsicana Tigers vs. Crandall Pirates

Corsicana is 0-4 against Crandall since January of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Corsicana Tigers will head out to challenge the Crandall Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Corsicana has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row, Corsicana turned things around against Ennis on Friday. They secured a 56-50 W over the Lions.

Meanwhile, Crandall came up short against Red Oak on Saturday, falling 81-56. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Hawks are ranked 86th).

Crandall has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Corsicana, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-16.

Corsicana was taken down by Crandall 82-35 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Corsicana was down 40-15.
