Shades Valley won the last time they faced Oxford and things went their way on Friday too. The Shades Valley Mounties pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over the Oxford Yellow Jackets. The win was nothing new for the Mounties as they're now sitting on five straight.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaslyn Montgomery, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikynlei Mosley, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Shades Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. As for Oxford, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.

Shades Valley will challenge Pell City at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oxford, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-32 defeat against Spring Garden on the 4th.
