The St. Rita Mustangs will square off against the Lincoln-Way East Griffins at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. St. Rita is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

St. Rita saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Homewood-Flossmoor by a score of 6-3. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.

Will Rewers tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, St. Rita's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Christian Clark, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. That's the most runs Clark has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way East unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 13-7 to Joliet Catholic.

St. Rita's victory bumped their record up to 15-19. As for Lincoln-Way East, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-10.
