Baseball Recap: Sunnyside Comes Up Short

Sunnyside suffered their biggest loss since February 27th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers, falling 9-2. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Badgers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Sunnyside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was EMRICK THOMPSON, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Sunnyside now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunnyside will challenge Cienega at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.63 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they will square off against Rincon/University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Badgers are facing the Rangers at the right time seeing as the Rangers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
