Basketball Recap: Desert Comes Up Short

Desert suffered their biggest defeat since January 16th on Friday. They took a blow against the California City Ravens, falling 66-34. The Scorpions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead California City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carlito 'Smooth' Brown, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 19 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Desert now has a losing record at 1-2. As for California City, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Desert is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will square off against Silver Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. California City has already played their next match, a 79-29 win against Desert Christian on the 7th.
