Basketball Game Preview: Elysian Fields Yellowjackets vs. Tenaha Tigers

The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Tenaha Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Elysian Fields has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Tenaha will arrive with 13 straight victories.

Last Friday, Elysian Fields had to suffer through a 64-12 loss at the hands of Timpson. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1527th, while the Bears are ranked 744th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Tenaha took on Gary on Friday. Tenaha blew past Gary 60-24. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Tenaha's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-6. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Elysian Fields, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.

Elysian Fields was dealt a bruising 62-18 defeat at the hands of Tenaha in their previous matchup back in January. Can Elysian Fields avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
