Football Game Preview: Brandon Eagles vs. Jesuit Tigers + How To Watch

The Brandon Eagles will square off against the Jesuit Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Brandon has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Jesuit will arrive with four straight victories.

Brandon's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Blake on Friday. They took a blow against the Yellow Jackets, falling 57-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 478th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 178th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jesuit). They really took it to Middleton for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-7 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-0.

A big part of Jesuit's victory came down to the chemistry between Will Griffin and his top target Mikey Vernon. Griffin threw for 278 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes while Vernon picked up 171 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Vernon a new career-high.

Jesuit didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nolan Dooly and Tripp Keller. Dooly got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Brandon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Brandon was taken down by Jesuit 43-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Griffin, who threw for 156 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Now that the Eagles know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
