Basketball Recap: Lakeside Skates Past Hot Springs with Ease

Lakeside entered their tilt with Hot Springs on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 60-19 win over the Hot Springs Trojans. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Lakeside to victory were Payton Futch and Mckenzie Williams. Futch almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards, while Williams posted 13 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Futch's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Humphrey, who earned eight points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Lakeside was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lakeside's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.1 points. As for Hot Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeside will challenge Pine Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside is facing Pine Bluff at the right time seeing as Pine Bluff is stuck on a 22-game losing streak. As for Hot Springs, they will head out to face off against Lake Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
