Soccer Game Preview: John Battle vs. Abingdon

John Battle hasn't had much luck against Abingdon recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trojans will challenge the Falcons at 7:30 p.m.

John Battle is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Gate City on Tuesday. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. John Battle have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Abingdon, on the other hand, haven't lost since April 7th and they too continued that trend. They never let Union get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Abingdon, who have now won five matchups by five goals or more so far this season.

They hit Union with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mason Sollien (3), Ben Childers, and Daniel Blackmon.

Abingdon now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for John Battle, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-1.

John Battle couldn't quite get it done against Abingdon when the teams last played back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
