Basketball Game Preview: Lake Central Indians vs. Crown Point Bulldogs

The Lake Central Indians will square off against the Crown Point Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Lake Central narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hammond Central 55-53.

Noah Enyeart was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-13 en route to 21 points and eight boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Greene, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Crown Point entered their tilt with Brownsburg on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 70-63 victory over Brownsburg. Given Crown Point's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Brownsburg is ranked 63rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crown Point pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.6 points over those games. As for Lake Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Lake Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Crown Point in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 32-30. Will Lake Central repeat their success, or does Crown Point have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
