Soccer Game Preview: Choctaw vs. Southmoore

For the first time this season, Choctaw will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Southmoore SaberCats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southmoore took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Choctaw, who comes in off a win.

Choctaw proved they can win big back in March (they won by five) and last Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past Harrah 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Southmoore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Edmond Santa Fe. While losing is never fun, Southmoore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Edmond Santa Fe are ranked eighth).

Southmoore's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Choctaw, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Choctaw couldn't quite get it done against Southmoore in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 as they fell 2-0. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
