Recap: Creekside Seminoles vs. Banneker Trojans
The Creekside Seminoles can finally bid farewell to their 17-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Banneker by a score of 66-55. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Creekside has managed all season.
Creekside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tim Gaulden led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jevon Harris, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Creekside's win ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-21. As for Banneker, they dropped their record down to 9-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creekside will square off against Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Creekside in Georgia (Chapel Hill is ranked 33rd, while Creekside is ranked 427th). As for Banneker, they will head out on the road to challenge Tri-Cities at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tri-Cities knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Banneker likes a good challenge.
