Preview: Hoke County Bucks vs. Scotland Fighting Scots

The Hoke County Bucks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Scotland Fighting Scots at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Scotland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hoke County, who comes in off a win.

Even though Hoke County has not done well against Pinecrest recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Hoke County managed a 54-50 victory over Pinecrest.

Jaylen Sturdivant was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon O.d mckoy, who scored ten points.

Scotland suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 84-51 loss at the hands of Richmond. Scotland has not had much luck with Richmond recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Scotland saw an underclassman step up: Shyland Harrell scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Dylan Lampley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.

Hoke County has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Scotland, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Friday's match is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Hoke County have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Scotland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Hoke County beat Scotland 59-52 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hoke County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
