Baseball Recap: Gulf Comes Up Short

Gulf managed to slip by Seven Rivers Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Gulf Buccaneers lost 6-0 to the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 31 runs in the game before, the Buccaneers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Gulf saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reid Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Wilson's first of the season.

Gulf's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Seven Rivers Christian, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Anclote at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Villages Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
