Baseball Recap: Campolindo Takes a Loss

Campolindo fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Benicia on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-3. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Colin Rutzen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Campolindo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke McLeod, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Campolindo's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Benicia, their record now sits at 12-4.

While Campolindo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
