It was a good run, but Nemaha Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Holton Wildcats. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Nemaha Central was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23.

Nola Sudbeck paced Nemaha Central's offense, picking up six kills. Sudbeck got some help from Kennedy Carlson and her nine assists. Finally, Meg Honeyman kept Nemaha Central's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Nemaha Central's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-4. As for Holton, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Nemaha Central has already played their next contest (against Hiawatha), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Holton, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Sabetha on the 9th.
