Covenant Day and Rabun Gap-Nacoochee are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Covenant Day Lions will be playing at home against the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last four games Covenant Day has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Covenant Day took a 18-run loss the last time they faced off against Hickory Grove Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Covenant Day narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Hickory Grove Christian 8-6.

James Cosper made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other pitching news, Issac Snapp looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk).

Back at the plate, Charlie Kelly was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Ethan Andujar was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Hebron Christian as Rabun Gap-Nacoochee made off with an 11-0 win.

Covenant Day pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Covenant Day took their victory against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 13-3. Does Covenant Day have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rabun Gap-Nacoochee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
