Baseball Game Preview: Logan Wildcats vs. Wyoming East Warriors

The Logan Wildcats will square off against the Wyoming East Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Logan is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Logan and Scott had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Skyhawks on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Skyhawks on their field since April 25, 2023.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Wyoming East made sure to put some runs up on the board against WestSide on Monday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Renegades with a sharp 13-3 win. Considering the Warriors have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Miken Smyth, who went 1-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Biggs, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Wyoming East is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Logan, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything went Logan's way against Wyoming East in their previous matchup on Saturday, as Logan made off with an 8-1 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
