Soccer Recap: Sherando Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Sherando has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Millbrook Pioneers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Sherando came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Millbrook are ranked 240th).

Sherando's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Millbrook, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pioneers beat Sherando by a score of 2-1 later that day.
