Soccer Game Preview: South View vs. Purnell Swett

South View is 1-8-1 against Purnell Swett since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South View Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Purnell Swett Rams at 7:00 p.m. South View will be strutting in after a win while Purnell Swett will be coming in after a loss.

South View proved they can win big on Friday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Lumberton 3-2. The Tigers' winning goal came courtesy of Amiyah Whitaker.

Meanwhile, Purnell Swett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Ashley, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Screaming Eagle are ranked tenth).

South View has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four contests. Purnell Swett's loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
