Yutan has gone 8-2 against Fort Calhoun recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Yutan Chieftains are taking a road trip to square off against the Fort Calhoun Pioneers at 5:45 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Yutan came out on top against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder by a score of 41-34 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Yutan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addi Jones, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Tichota, who had 11 points.

Meanwhile, Fort Calhoun put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Douglas County West with points to spare, taking the game 49-31.

Yutan better focus on containing Maelie Nelson and Raeann Massey as the pair were huge in Fort Calhoun's win. Nelson put up ten points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Massey went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Bouwman, who posted four points and four steals.

Fort Calhoun was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Fort Calhoun pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Yutan, their record now sits at 3-1.

Yutan was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Calhoun when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 46-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Yutan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
