Volleyball Recap: Northwest Wolves vs. Pleasant Valley Spartans

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northwest can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pleasant Valley Spartans on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2022.

The final score came out to 25-20, 24-26, 25-22, 25-16.

Pleasant Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carsyn Kelley out in front who had ten digs, six kills, and 29 assists. Kelley has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last nine times she's played. Abigail Staats was another key player, getting 23 digs and two aces.

Northwest moved to 19-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Pleasant Valley, the win (which was their 28th in a row) raised their record to 35-2.

As of now, neither Northwest nor Pleasant Valley have any future games scheduled.
