Basketball Recap: Nunamiut Drops Season-High Score on Kali

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nunamiut). They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 101-23 victory over the Kali Wolverines. The win continues a trend for the Amaguq in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won seven in a row.

Nunamiut's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexander Galloso led the charge by putting up 34 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Galloso continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Justus Mulcahy was another key player, dropping a double-double with 19 points and ten steals.

Nunamiut pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points over those games. As for Kali, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coming up, Nunamiut and Nuiqsut Trapper will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Nuiqsut Trapper knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Nunamiut likes a good challenge. Kali does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
