Poteet is a perfect 5-0 against Adams since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pirates will be playing at home against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Poteet has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Adams will arrive with ten straight victories.

On Saturday, Poteet came up short against Horn and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, while Adams put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Samuell. The Cougars blew past the Spartans 16-0. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Xavier Gomez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan McAnally, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Adams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .517 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.

Adams pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Poteet, they now have a losing record of 12-13-2.

Poteet came out on top in a nail-biter against Adams in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 12-11. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
